I have a hard time not hating people that have this kind of money. Which is why if I ever had money like this I’d keep it quite.

Why?
What good does hating them do? So what if they and their families have money. Good for them. I'm glad I get to see these cars out on the street. I wish I could afford one, and hopefully someday I will.

I know I shouldn’t but got it pisses me off that I am a lower middle class 25 year old, and I can’t even afford a new economy car, mean while other people have two or three cars worth more than a reeeally nice house where I live. And the funny thing is there are people in the world, even in the ‘Great U S of A” who would see me as rich because my wife and I each have a car, and a spare one for when my Mitsubishi is on jack stands, and you know we have cell phones, and literally never have to go hungry. The world is pretty fucked up and I’d it’s hard to believe that the people on top have gotten there by being honest and fair.

HATE, is a strong word I highly advocate in this particular instance and all instances like it.

I honestly don’t even hate these kids that much. There’s always going to be rich people sending their kids to schools with kids of all financial backgrounds.
Here in Madison, over the past 10-15 years a whole bunch of luxury high rise apartment buildings have gone up near the University of Wisconsin campus. All of them, without fail, are full of kids whose parents are paying for fancy-ass apartments and fancy-ass cars for their spoiled kids. The majority of these kids are not from Wisconsin.
These kids, sure, they’re flaunting a big pile of money in an obnoxious way. But you know what? That’s what people with money do! I mean, myself, if I had a bunch of money, I’d try to be low key about it, but that doesn’t make me a better human being than these people. Hell, more than one of them, when asked if they drive their fancy car to school, say “no I have some other less obnoxious car for that.”
Which on the one hand, is pretty ironic, because having another, less obnoxious car to drive so they don’t come off as obnoxious is in fact more expensive and thus more obnoxious.
But on the other hand, they’re at least sorta trying to blend into their school settings.

They wouldn’t fit in here, with our 10-20 year old beaters and rust buckets and whatnot, so I don’t even know what they’re thinking. It’s not a good enough excuse to me honestly. Or reason, if they’re inclined to ever say such a thing.

So at UW, the rich kids from Chicago are FIBs (Fucking Illinois Bastards) and the east coast rich kids are Coasties.
There are very different crowds of your typical middle class kids who come from whatever part of Wisconsin and are taking out student loans to pay for in-state tuition, and then your FIBs and Coasties who are coming from out of state with all of their tuition, fancy apartment, fancy clothes, and fancy car paid for by their rich parents.
It’s totally common to see some FIB or Coastie kid texting while pulling their Range Rover out of the underground garage of their $2500/month off-campus high rise apartment building, all of which was of course paid for by their parents, and they cut off some Wisconsin kid riding their used bike to their run-down old typical college house with 5 roommates.
They mingle in classes and at bars but in many ways they are entirely separate worlds.
I was a Coastie who came from the DC area but my parents only sort of spoiled me. Having been a Coastie myself, but not spoiled to the extent of many of the other rich kids, I can see both sides. I totally get why the Wisconsin folks resent the FIBs and Coasties.
Hell, I’m a 33 year old dude with a decent job, a cheap townhouse, and a 135is and Grand Cherokee, because I like cars and can afford them thanks to my cheapass townhouse. But I’m very careful to not brag about my cars to non-car people because I don’t want to come off as some rich prick talking about “oh look at me with my BMW and Jeep.”
But like I said before, there’s always going to be rich people who are not discreet about being rich. The fact that they are less concerned than me about coming off like a rich prick, doesn’t make them evil, or even worthy of negative attention. You can either get irked about them, or just brush it off as a fact of life.
I personally choose to not worry about it.
